Sosúa Dining & Nightlife
As a result of Sosúa's multicultural history, an international selection of cuisine, including Spanish, German and Italian, is offered in some of the finest restaurants in the country. For a special treat, gourmands should head to the German bakery at Villas Ana Maria.
Restaurants ranging from informal bistros to elegant establishments line Sosúa's main street; seafood eateries at both ends of Sosúa Beach make the most of the dramatic panoramas. Most restaurants stay open quite late; dinner is often served past 10 p.m.
The action in Sosúa's nightclubs often continues until the morning. Another nightlife option is the casino at Playa Chiquita, where they offer blackjack, roulette, craps and Caribbean poker.

10 driving minute away from "Villa Brigitte Beach resort" is Cabarete a beautiful place and was originally a sleepy fishing village but recently it has become a sophisticated resort offering quality Surfing, Windsurfing and Kite Surfing, with some of the Caribbean's best new surf zones being discovered. With more than 300 sun filled days every year and the warm seas make this a perfect place for both surfers. In the evening the beach towns convert to a romantic scene with open air discothèques and restaurants.
The ambience is trendy, yet still casual and laid-back, and is a perfect choice for the young sports-minded crowd or for those who just want a fun, leisurely beach vacation. Beach-walking and people-watching are big!
The best surf beach is El Encuentro - one of the most famous new reef-breaks of exposed to the world and is located just 5 minutes from our beach resort.
The bay that surround Sosua is actually split in to two. Los Charamicos is on the westside of the bay and has a typical Dominican Village atmosphere with its lively Creole restaurants and bars, street vendors and colorful surroundings. The buildings in the area are old and are typical of most Dominican villages, with crowded rambling streets and noisy moto-conchos running up and down the streets.Makes for great atmosphere! El Batey is on the east side of the bay and is the center of Sosua tourist region. Here you will find the upscale restaurants, boutiques, hotel resorts, villas and nightclubs.
The combination of friendy Dominicans, lifely Latin culture, offbeat expatriates, beautiful beaches and unspoiled countrside makes Sosua one of the most unusual, fun, fascinating and safe places in the Carribean to vacation.

Snorkeling:
Snorkelers can swim about 150 feet from shore and find coral reefs and delightful opportunities for feeding fish and taking underwater photos. There are usually several dive boats in the same vicinity, so everybody is aware of the presence of divers and snorkelers. The water is very calm in most areas, with only a couple of tricky currents, and it is crystal clear on most days.
Moderate amount of fish near the coral reef makes for decent underwater photo opportunities. You can see flounder, parrot fish, grouper, porcupine and dozens of other varieties.
You can easily snorkel from the beach to the reefs. Taking a tour allows you to reach reefs further out and to focus on having a good time in the water, as your valuables are guarded.

Escursions:
Sosua is close enough to Puerto Plata to enjoy all its attractions. Visit the Amber Museum, take the cable car ride up to the Botanical Gardens atop Isabela de Torres Mountain. Take a tour of the rum factory with free samples and an option to buy quality rum. Spend the morning at the Columbus Water Park with its many slides and pools. Spend the afternoon at the Go Kart/Bumper Car park that is open all night. These two parks are just a 15-minute drive from Sosua.
North Coast excursions include safari-style jeep trips into the countryside, catamaran day trips off Sosua Beach, horseback riding excursions into the outback, trips to Cabarete and La Isabela Park off Luperón (where the first European settlement in the New World was built in the 15th Century), Cofresí Beach, and the Puerto Plata city tour (may or may not include the cable car ride).
